After taking office, Dr. Chaudhari shared his priorities, stating that his immediate focus will be on speeding up key infrastructure projects in the Pune Metropolitan Region. Some of the major initiatives he aims to advance include the Pune Ring Road project, the Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar Metro corridor, and various town planning schemes designed to support the region’s rapid urban growth
While speaking to the media, Chaudhari stressed the importance of structured and sustainable development throughout Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the surrounding rural areas that are part of the PMRDA jurisdiction. He pointed out that urban expansion has led to several challenges, such as traffic congestion, especially in major IT and industrial areas, and mentioned that the authority would seek practical solutions.
The new commissioner also underscored the significance of progressing the river rejuvenation project, which is anticipated to be crucial in enhancing environmental conditions in the metropolitan area.
With approximately 15 years of administrative experience, Dr. Chaudhari is expected to inject new energy into several pending PMRDA projects. He expressed his aim to help create a well-planned, industry-friendly, and sustainable metropolitan region that can accommodate Pune’s future growth.
